Move Consulting wins tender to
work with British Equestrian and its member bodies to review their qualifications and continued professional development pathways.
The Challenge
British Equestrian, along with its member bodies, sought to review and refine its coach education and professional development pathways. With a wide range of qualifications and learning content already in place across the equestrian sector, the organisation recognised the opportunity to build greater coherence, enhance quality, and ensure the system remains relevant, inclusive, and fit for the future.
The project aimed to identify areas of synergy across the various governing bodies, strengthen collaboration, and ensure that coaches and volunteers are supported by learning pathways that reflect both the unique nature of equestrian sport and broader developments across the physical activity and coaching landscape.
Our Approach
Move Consulting took a strategic and system-aware approach to the review. The project focused on exploring the current offer across member bodies and working with stakeholders to build a shared understanding of what a more aligned and effective coach education pathway could look like.
This included examining qualifications and CPD content from across the equestrian landscape, engaging with sector leaders to understand current challenges and future ambitions, and identifying opportunities to support continuous improvement.
Our work was grounded in the belief that great coaching experiences are fundamental to supporting active lives. We were proud to help shape a system that supports coaches and volunteers to thrive—making it easier for people with a passion for equestrian sport to engage in meaningful, progressive learning.
"Helping to ensure that coaches remain informed and motivated is key. This project holds great potential to strengthen coach pathways and make the learning experience more connected, relevant and rewarding."
