Active Oxfordshire, the Active Partnership for the county of Oxfordshire contacted Move Consulting for guidance and support on their work tackling inactivity and inequalities for people with disabilities, long term health conditions, poor mental health and older people.
The Challenge
Active Oxfordshire, the county’s Active Partnership, reached out to Move Consulting for strategic support following an internal secondment and the commissioning of a new initiative: the Move Together pathway. Designed to tackle inactivity and health inequalities, the pathway aimed to support people living with disabilities, long-term health conditions, poor mental health, and older adults across the county.
The Active Partnership required expertise to refine the pathway’s design, evaluate its effectiveness, and develop a compelling case for long-term investment from health and social care partners.

Our Approach
Move Consulting worked in close collaboration with Active Oxfordshire and system partners to strengthen the strategic direction and sustainability of the Move Together pathway.
We began by reviewing the pathway’s structure, delivery, and existing evaluation findings—helping to identify opportunities for refinement, system alignment, and clearer communication of impact. We then supported a focused development process to define the delivery model, co-create an evaluation framework, and build a strong business case for continued investment.
Throughout the project, we also provided mentoring and strategic coaching to build internal capacity and confidence within the organisation.

Project impact
Move Consulting’s support helped Active Oxfordshire secure additional funding and position the Move Together pathway for long-term sustainability. The business case, supported by compelling data and clear messaging, enabled productive engagement with commissioners and health partners.
This work also contributed to stronger relationships across the health and social care system and created a more confident, capable team able to continue championing the value of physical activity in improving health outcomes.
